Sensei.Senbag Rajamani

Chief Instructor

Sensei Senbag Rajamani has been practicing Shotokan Karate-Do since 1985. Sensei has been teaching Shotokan Karate-Do to multitude of students in many countries including India, UAE and USA since 1988. He has conducted many seminars and organized several rallies to support World Peace, National Integration, Environmental Protection and Women Empowerment with support of International Organizations such as Lions Club, Rotary Club, and Sierra Club. He is a CPR and Sports Injury prevention certified instructor.

Sensei has been advocating Martial Arts training to the women of all ages since he started teaching Martial Arts. He conducted several Martial Arts program for Women, including free workshops on Rape Prevention techniques and strategies, Street Aware and You in You. He came to USA for his higher education in 1997 and landed in South Dakota State University, Brookings SD. He taught Shotokan Karate at SDSU until he graduated. He moved to Maryland in 1999 to pursue his career as Senior Software Engineer, and started teaching Shotokan Karate to kids and adults.

Sensei Rajamani's Zen Karate Academy is affliated with World Karate Association WKA-USA headed by Sensei Thomas Casale. He is a Executive board member of WKA-PanAM and International Union of Karate-Do Organizations (IUKO).

Currently, Sensei Rajamani is holding 5th Degree Black Belt in World Karate Association and 6th Degree in IUKO . He participated and won several International, National, and Regional tournaments in India, UAE. He was awarded as a Best Instructor many times in his endeavor.

 

Sensei.Dhyan Rajamani

Instructor

Sensei Dhyan Rajamani has been practicing Shotokan Karate since 2002, trained by his father Sensei Senbag Rajamani. He got second place in Kata in his first Karate Tournament in 2005 in Washington DC. Since then he was awarded first place in many State, Regional and National tournaments conducted by USA National Karate Federation (USA NKF), AAU Karate tournaments, and NASKA.

 

He won Grand Champion (Kata and Kumite) in Black Belt division in VA State NKF Championship 2014 and Runner up (Kata and Kumite) in World Karate Association (WKA) World Championship at Cancun, Mexico in 2012.He earned his WKA Second Dan Black Belt in 2011 and training to attend his Third Dan test in 2023.

 

He organized many self defense seminars in Germantown, MD community and notably, conducted a Women Self defense workshop as a fundraiser for Nepal Earth Quake Relief along with his Black Blet sister Yoga Rajamani

 

Sensei Dhyan is completing his Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology in New York University, NY. He graduated his BS in Biology from University of Pittsburgh, PA

 

 

Sensei.Yoga Rajamani

Sensei Yoga Rajamani has been practicing Shotokan Karate since 2004 and trained by her father Sensei Senbag Rajamani along with her brother Dhyan. She got second place in Kata in her first Karate Tournament in 2005 in Washington DC. Since then she was placed in first or second place in many State, Regional and National tournaments conducted by USA National Karate Federation, AAU Karate tournaments,  and NASKA. She was placed Runner up (Kata) in World Karate Association (WKA) World Championship at Cancun, Mexico in 2012.

 

Yoga earned her WKA Second Dan Black Belt in 2019. She organized many self defense seminars in Germantown MD community and notably, conducted a Women Self defense workshop as a fundraiser for Nepal Earth Quake Relief along with her Black Blet brother Dhyan Rajamani. She achieved her Gold Award in Girl Scout by conducting seven Women Self defense and Sexual Assault prevention workshops.

 

Sensei Yoga is graduated in BS NeuroBiology and Cell Physiology from University of Maryland, College Park MD. Currently preparing for MCAT exams.

Sensei. Mythili Menon

Sensei Mythili Menon has been practicing Karate since 2010. She is holding a second degree Black Belt. She is an avid competing athlete and scored in AAU and USA National Karate Federation's Regional Championships in Kata and Kumite. She is a Senior in Clarksburg High School.

Sensei Aneesh has been practicing Karate since 2010. He is holding a second degree Black Belt. He is an avid competing athlete and scored in AAU and USA National Karate Federation's Regional Championships in Kata and Kumite. He is a Junior in Northwest High School.
